Compiz Fusion Cube slurs game

When I activate the Compiz Fusion cube and spin it around, I come back to find team-colored lines all over the game. Activating Sync to VBlank has no effect on this, either. Using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex.

1. provide a screenshot or photograph showing the exact effect,

2. provide a list of steps to reproduce this (which other packages to install, what actions to do on the desktop),

3. test whether the same problem occurs with the pygame client or any other X application, and if so we'll pass this one on to the other package that causes it,

4. reproduce the problem with the following line in the netrek-client-cow source uncommented:

  // XSynchronize(W_Display, True);

(we may be able to solve this by enabling synchronous display if we can work out how to detect the presence of this third-party Compiz Fusion Cube package).

I cannot test it until I get a reply from the compiz fusion developers on if/why this is a bug:
