Bug Description
Using netplan-set generates a yaml file that is only readable by the owner (600), while most other applications make the configuration files readable by the group and others as well (644).
I suggest to default to the generally used read permissions (644).

Hello, thanks for your suggestion.
We changed the default permissions recently due to some concerns about the fact that netplan yaml files can store credentials. If the files are world readable, one could run "netplan get" and see passwords stored there.
We have plans to address this issue though. But for now it's better to use a restrictive set of permissions for security reasons.
Thanks.
