Bug Description

Attempted Clean Install from PPA on Linux Mint.

Basically I get to the Netflix screen and then the browser just hangs. The error seems to be related to some Silverlight upgrade Netflix and/or Microsoft did to prevent Linux users from watching movies on unsupported (i.e. Windows/Macs) devices.

Can you confirm that the PPA works with the current versions of Silverlight (as of 08/2013), and whether there are some known workarounds?

Hi,
Just wanted to follow up with you and confirm that this appears to be a
bug in Firefox caused by an invalid parsing error. I believe this has
been reported before, but clearly the fix does not work for everyone.
Here's a link to my posting on the Arch forum with some more details.
Hopefully this can help resolve the issue.

Thanks Brendan,

I've posted a message in the relevant question so that we can find out
if this works for others, if it does I can automatically change the
Firefox configuration to circumvent the issue for others. Let me know
if you have any other suggestions!

Best,
Erich

Spencer, you probably need to wipe your profile folder (rm -Rf ~/.wine-browser). The more recent versions of netflix-desktop should no longer allow this problem to occur.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't taken care of this yet. Is it really necessary to turn off prefetch or is turning off IPv6 good enough?
