Bug Description

9.10 Netbook Remix Beta
Acer eeePC 1005HA

I did installation using USB stick. I chose encrypted home as the installation option.

On the first login after install the system got up to the point where GDM asked password. Password was accepted, another loading screen came up, and soon desktop background came up with the mouse cursor. After that nothing happened. I could switch to terminal 1 using ctrl+alt+F1, enter login, enter password. Welcome message came up, but shell prompt didn't. In that point system had totally hung up and I had to hard reset.

On second login I got to Netbook Remix desktop menu. However, the menu was unusable slow. I could see transition effects happen with 1-2 s delay. Encrypted home "recovery password" wizard popped up, twice. On the first time I got to the shell to give the recovery password. After that X locked up. I went to terminal 1 using ctrl+alt+f1, run /etc/init.d/gdm restart.

On the third login everthing seemed go smoothly.

I suspect problems are related to encrypted home which somehow grinds io to halt and prevents generating/accessing home folder files.
