Karmic UNR: system freezes randomly

UNR Karmic Apha 6

System freezes at random times (no mouse, no keyboard LED change). Within 1 hour and several boots, it froze 2 times.
This is a big improvement over Alpha 5 which freezes almost immediately when the mouse is moved.

Same here.
Just made upgrade to 9.10alpha6 from 9.04.
System freezes randomly, even at login screen.

The problem is still there in Karmic beta 1.
If the mouse is not moved, no freeze occurs.
The problem seems related to the UNR application lancher as if the desktop is switched to the regular ubuntu interface, no freezes occur.

Tested with karmic UNR RC with latest updates:
Netbook user interface: freezes (no mouse movement) almost instantaneously
Classic user interface: no freezing at all

Note that another different system with a different motherboard with Intel Atom N270 and 945GME graphics on karmic RC UNR does not show these symptoms. But it froze after some time while the mouse remained responsive.

Tested with Karmic UNR final with Netbook Remix user interface:

- Within 1 to 5 seconds of moving the mouse, the mouse freezes.
- If the mouse is not moved and the keyboard is used for navigation, no freeze occurs.
- If an application is opened, the mouse can be used without any problem in that application.
- The problem seems to manifest itself only when the mouse is moved in the Application Launcher desktop space.
- Once the freeze occurs, we can still ssh into the box. The kern.log and syslog are attached.
