Bug Description

Installed UNR on Kingston 2GB flash drive. Able to start Ubuntu on Dell and Asus Netbook EEE PC. However IBM thinkpad X60 tablet shows a BOOT ERROR on startup. Tried disabling power and changing AHCI mode to COMPATIBILITY as well. Does not work.

Do you get this issue with other Ubuntu ISOs? e.g. the Ubuntu Desktop Edition one

This seems like it may the flash drive. Does the same flash drive work on any other machine? Also as Loic mentioned does regular 9.04 do the same thing? Try anonther flash drive and see what happens.

9.04 supports AHCI.. though for this problem AHCI is not the issue as since you are booting off of USB it has no effect. It only effects how SATA disks work. Same for power managment settings. They will have no effect for this issue.

The problem could be the flash disk drive has issues writting to it's boot sector (first 512 bytes of the drive).

Sorry. I didn't read your post all the way (late night).

For the X60t first try the latest bios update:

Also try another USB stick then the kingston. I've seen this issue before with some USB sticks in the past.

Their is nothing special about the T60 tablet so is should just work.
