Bug Description
I'm going to re-report bug #366109 here as I don't think it's in a place where it's likely to get picked up by the right people and I'm not sure how to move it under the noses of the Netbook Remix Team. Apologies if this is unnecessary or rude.
The bug is evident on my eee pc 901 and Neil's Inspiron Mini 9 after a fresh install of Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04. It is readily reproducible, easily stumbled upon and renders the PC all but unusable.
If the computer is switched from the Netbook Remix Interface to Classic Desktop mode using the desktop mode switcher (System >> Administration >> Switch Desktop Mode) and then restarted from the classic desktop the user finds him/her self stranded in a kind of desktop limbo without obvious means of escape. There are no interface elements except pointer and wall paper and the computer is rendered pretty much useless.
Right clicking and creating a new launcher to trigger the command: desktop-switcher provides a messy work around that can help recover some user interface.
This would also appear to be the same behavior described in Question #66076.
