1) Compare icon quality of desktop launcher elements

Expected result:
All icons have crisp details and edges

Actual result:
Games, Graphics and Sound&Video category icons are not as crisp as other icons used.

I believe I have been mistaken for somebody else, I have no idea what this is about ..

After having a quick chat on #ubuntu-artwork, it seems that there are no higher-res versions of applications-graphics and applications-games past 24x24.

This leaves us with the option of letting it stand how is it, or using (free) icons from a similar icon set. The icons from the gnome icon set look too different to me.

So *that's* why I couldn't get the domain! ;-)

UNR is just using the Human icon theme, right? It is hard to believe we don't have a complete set of category icons for an icon set that has existed for so long. We should have a complete set. Would kwwii have the originals?

I figured that, but the questions are:
1) Who created the Human icon theme?
   * According to /usr/share/doc/human-icon-theme it was jdub and dholboch
2) Do we have the source, and does that help to create larger sizes?

I know that we are currently working on Intrepid, but I need to know the level effort to resolve this issue.

Icon Factory made the icons. No, we do not have any sources available.

Is there an icon set at gnome-look or somewhere else that doesn't have any fuzzy edges when used with the netbook remix? I.e. anyone have a recommendation for me?

I just changed my icons in Preferences | Main Menu. I had to log out and back in for them to show up.

The icons I'm now using are:

/usr/share/icons/gnome/48x48/stock/net/stock_mail-druid-account.png for Graphics

I'm sorry, ClearType Tuning appears to be a Microsoft app for fixing Windows
fonts. I'm using Ubuntu and Netbook-Launcher and was posting a quick fix
for the low resolution default icons. Sorry for the confusion.

This is still the case in the new 9.04 release which is just really sad. The whole Ubuntu Icon theme should be SVG.. its been how many years of this theme?

Im not great with graphics but i have on occasion banged together a icon using SVG elements. If i get some time ill bang together some and upload them

The icons that need to be SVG are as follows:

Games - Category
Graphics - Category
Sound & Video - Category

Accessories -> Passwords and Encryption Keys
Accessories -> Take Screenshots
Office -> EBook Reader (FBReader) - only slightly

Preferences -> Appearance
Preferences -> Encryption and Keyrings
Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts
Preferences -> SCIM ....
Preferences -> Windows (this one is basic! anyone could make his as SVG)

System -> Calibrate Touchscreen
System -> Software Sources
System -> Synaptic Package Manager
