Bug Description

I installed UNE yesterday; it is running netbook-launcher 2.1.18-0ubuntu1, and starting this morning the launcher "jumps" back to the top almost immediately after launching an application of any kind.

I did eventually manage to click the "log out" button before the launcher popped back up, and a "task isn't closing" dialog came up. I told it to log out anyway - and between then and actually logging out, everything behaved properly.

I'm not quite sure what to try next as diagnostics...

Starting from the "Netbook 2D" version seemed to work, but I clicked on "Files->Documents" - and it appeared to get stuck in a loop opening Documents windows! Rebooting and opening the "Appearance" settings app seemed to work, but when I closed it, the launcher was also gone and I was left with a standard Gnome desktop.

I don't know if it is relevant or not, but if I try the "Unity" manager it just hangs before coming up.

Thanks for reporting this bug and help to make ubuntu better.

I believe that your graphic card doesn't support very well clutter. Can you please try to launch netbook-launcher from your GNOME session and copy the output you get in the terminal?

If you enter alt+ctrl+F1 to get terminal 1 and execute "killall netbook-launcher" several times until "netbook-launcher: no process found", the problem solves until next boot.
