Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-netbook-remix

Unr is missing the network section from the "places" section. This means there is no intuitive way to mount an nfs/samba drive with ease.

It can be done from within nautilus but that is not what is displayed by default.

I think it would be better in the long run if this feature was re-added as it is displayed on nearly all modern operating systems now.

Assuming by "networking section" this also includes the "Connect to server" option since they are very much related?

Indeed.

The connect to server is probably more important that the setup that connects you to a local server.

But I think both are important in their own right

The fact it doesn't display them properly in Files & Folders when you do set nfs/smb/sftp sources up in Nautilus is also annoying, dunno if this is a part of this bug or not though?

But I agree the easy ability to find/add/edit network sources/shares is sorely missing.
