desktop-switcher wasn't killing/launching the correct launcher. Will be fixed in next release. The panel errors will be around for sometime as there is a bit of flux on gconf/panel at the moment in upstream Ubuntu.

I tried desktop-switcher yesterday on my netbook with Jaunty and experienced this bug with the fast-user-switch-applet:

Additionally, it didn't restore the proper skin/window theme for the netbook-remix.

I now found out why the previously mentioned problem with the FUSA appeared: desktop-switch somehow set desktop/gnome/lockdown/disable_user_switching to TRUE which caused FUSA to hide itself. I did NOT have this option enabled before using desktop-switch.

I have similar problems: after switching back and forward the panels have disappeared. On a previous install the same thing happened. (Jaunty Beta with UNR installed by package, Acer Aspire One)

I've marked this as a duplicate of #349519, as there is a bit more information there plus some test desktop-switcher packages. If you could try the most recent on (0.4.4-1) , and log your results on that bug, it would be very much appreciated.
