Summary:
When resuming from sleep, the launcher blinks once before coming back up.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Put system to sleep
2) Resume system
Expected result:
Desktop resumes smoothly. Elements appear and are usable.
Actual result:
Launcher is initially displayed then disappears before coming back up as a usable desktop |

This is an unfortunate consequence of having to restart the launcher at each suspend/resume cycle (intel driver bug). |
The root cause of this is bug 237761. We can optimize the workaround perhaps by having the launcher remeber it's selected category on suspend and select it again on resume. We might also try to restart the launcher after the first suspend/resume, so the blinking would only occur once. |
