Bug Description
I'm trying to get all data necessary from the netboxes to feed my rancid deployment. The only thing I'm missing is the vendor + description of the equipment so it can be totally automated.

By description I assume you mean type description, as vendor also follows from the type of the equipment.
After a quick discussion we decided to put this inline in the netbox endpoint. The depth of the netbox endpoint is set so that the API will provide nested information from all the related objects. This will make the endpoint slower, but as paging, search and filtering is enabled this will hopefully be acceptable.
Filtering can still be used by id for the related objects, i.e. you still can filter by category=<catid>, organization=
