Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

steps to reproduce:
use "compact view"
disable option [ ] all columns have the same width
create a directory with a lot of sub-directories in it (until you get scrollbars)
the first one should have a short directory name
the second one should have a veeery long directory name
=>
try to double-click on the short directory name, Nautilus scrolls away to the right side so the second click goes to void

This is a very annoying bug for me, since I have many folders with long filenames, and I really need to see the full name of those files.
Perhaps a 100papercut-bug?

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue , in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install , that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of the project.

although its reproduce able (nautilus 2.29.1) but its a bug not a papercut
For further info about papercuts criteria , pls read > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PaperCut

Don't worry though, This bug has been marked as "invalid" ONLY in the papercuts project.
