Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

This is just a duplicate of bug

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/463234

but now the folder having problems has no large files, only a couple
of pdfs.

I'm using launchpad to upload all bug data to help upstream.

This bug is upstream, apperently.

I think its severity should not be "low" though, as now I have problems
to display a normal folder content.

if that's a duplicate why do you open a bug anyway?
to make people triage that one rather during the time they could have used to work on the issue?

I think I explained, but again: I'm using the ubuntu-bug tracker to upload all that data, because the
this bug is not easily reproducible and I hope the automatic data uploaded can help someone to track
the issue. I've tried before to do automatic upload to a previously reported bug, but the data is
not uploaded and marking me as 'also affected' certainly does not help much.

Furthermore, I marked the older bug as duplicate of this one, not the contrary, as the title of this one
is more general since I got the problem in a more common folder. I don't agree that this bug
should marked as invalid nor that is importance is low. Experiencing nautilus being
unable to show a folder content causes a very bad impression even if the problem is only
that thumbnails are not generated correctly (I think this is the bug).

Anyway, this is already reported upstream as the previous bug states, I will keep using the
present tracker whenever I feel this is the best way to provide developers useful information.

The bug is old and Ubuntu changed quite a lot since, there has also been no activity here nor similar reports. Closing since we believe the issue as described is deprecated but feel free to file a new report if you still have problems in recent Ubuntu versions.
