Could you please start nautilus from CLI, and show me its output.

Open "gnome-terminal", and type —
    killall nautilus; nautilus .

and try to rename some files, show me the terminal output if nautilus-renamer doesn't open.

And what is your nautilus-renamer version? Are you using source package "make localinstall" or system-wide install, using "deb package".

After the Killall nautilus; nautilus
I tried to rename two highlighted files and received an Internal error and
the offending task was nautilus-renamer.py
Nautilus-Renamer was installed via the deb file.

I uninstalled and then installed again
*nautilus-renamer_4.0-quantal_all.deb*
Now I do not get the error message but it still does not open up.

I can't figure out what's wrong unless I get terminal output of nautilus-renamer.py.

One way to get it is to run nautilus in terminal using previously described "killall nautilus; nautilus ." command.

Another way is to run nautilus-renamer standalone using this command.
    python3 /usr/share/nautilus-renamer/nautilus-renamer.py file://some/uri/to/some/folder

What files are you trying to rename? Please, mentioned the filenames/paths you are trying to rename.

According to the log, it is saying there is no such file path "usb:001,005]/131073/3". Is that the filepath you are trying to rename?
If not, it might be related to the following bugs? Due to a nautilus bug, renamer in nautilus 3.8 may not work with unicode filenames.
