Ubuntu Desktop Bugs |
Bug Description
First you do a search with nautilus, and the results are displayed. Then you change the view. For example from the Icon View to the List View, because you expect to more quickly find the file you are looking for in this view.
The problem is that nautilus starts searching again, in stead of just changing the view. This is very inefficient for the user.
I suggest that nautilus search should collect all the information it needs for all the views in the search action. During a long search action the user can do something else in between. But as the results come in, the user should be able to quickly work on them, for example by changing the view and then choosing the result he is looking for.
