Bug Description

My computer has both a CDR and a DVDR. If I insert a blank CD into the CDR drive the default Choose disc type dialog comes up. I then select Make Data CD. Add files. Click Write Disc. The default Drive selection is set to my DVDR when it should be set to my CDR. This causes confusion if it is overlooked.

Thank you for your bug. That's probably a combinaison of nautilus-cd-burner and gnome-volume-manager feature request, at the moment it only calls the CD creator, a device URI could be added when starting it

Well, the problem in this moment in my opinion, the kernel of Ubuntu 8.10 doesn't run in my Desktop, which is an AMD Athlon XP +2400, with the chipset M863G. The LiveCD works through an CD RW Creative, but not with an CD/DVD RW da LG.

As matter as fact I'll have sent the shwd to Tim Cole, to report the Kernel probem, but till now, I've not any answer, and I'm surprised not see this bug nor about the problem of SCSI and I/O errors neither some solution to K7 Motherboards. As in the last versions of Ubuntu the K7 dissapeared to become as a generic Kernel which sometimes doesn't work all times.

The fact it's strange because the upgrade of 8.10 works fine with the kernel of 8.04, however this is not the better advice to work with, bacause there will be some problems with this kind of action, I think?

I'll hope that you can advice me, in maintaining the kernel of 8.04 working with the suite of 8.10, but I need to Know how to that.

Sincerely yours

José Azevedo
