I have the same problem too with Nanny on Ubuntu 10.10: the validation button does not work.
But I think I have found the source of the problem: it occurs when the nanny.nbl is in a folder with a name containing non ASCII characters (for exemple in French: "Téléchargements"). Put your .nbl file in another folder, and it works!
