Bug #207702 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythplugins/+bug/207702) was the same issue, and was resolved by adding a depend on python-xml for ofdb.py. Guess that somehow get dropped on Jaunty(?).

Thank you for helping to make Mythbuntu better. I am marking this as triaged since it looks to be the same problem (and same fix) as last year: python-xml is marked as a dependency for mythvideo in 8.04 through 8.10 depends on, but not on 9.04/Jaunty.

Changed in mythbuntu:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Triaged
summary: - no module named ext.reader
+ ofdb.py: No module named ext.reader (missing python-xml dependency?)

  * debian/patches/13_tmdb.pl.dpatch:
    - We can't provide imdb.pl or omdb.py support very well anymore
      because it's deprecated. Add in tmdb.pl from trunk revision
      19655, and prefer that instead. (LP: #335914)
  * debian/control:
    - Drop depends on python-xml. It's still useful if someone wants
      ofdb.py to work, but they'll have to add it themselves then.

Adding python-xml doesn't help, see bug #378384. The patch at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythplugins/+bug/378384/comments/3 helps though.

Marking incomplete as this release isn't supported anymore. Can anyone confirm that this issue is still present on a supported Mythbuntu/MythTV release?
