Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu. There is a thread that describes a similar problem here:

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/390388

Could you please read over this thread and see if any of the configuration descriptions match your setup, and/or any of the solutions/work-arounds work for you?

Thank you!

Howdy Sami,

My question was actually about all the suggestions in that thread:

1. Try external music player. For example, does the following command result in studder? mplayer cdda://
2. Checking logs during the studder (/var/log/myth logs, /var/log/message, and maybe even /var/log/dmesg)
3. Different sound cards
4. Disabling pulse audio
5. Disabling DMA
6. different v4l-dvb drivers
7. verify BIOS version

That last item is actually mine and not in the archived thread. After a small amount of searching, I believe that I found that your motherboard uses the ALC1200 sound chip. If you are using the ALC1200, the following message suggests trying BIOS version 0701:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=153640&st=0&p=1117494&#entry1117494

If not, what sound card and/or chipset do you have?
Also, what kind of connection are you using to get the audio out of the system? Have you tried other connection types?

Howdy, we really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The biggest one is that the MythTV developers have turned their efforts to the next version (0.22) and beyond and are no longer fixing bugs on 0.21.

The Mythbuntu team has builds of MythTV 0.22 available on a PPA if you are interested in upgrading. Please follow the directions at http://mythbuntu.org/auto-builds to enable them. Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with 0.22.

WARNING: If you need to have the ability to revert back to 0.21, you will need to back up your database before upgrading since a 0.22 database can not be downgraded.

    Thanks!

This same problem exists still with Mythtv 0.22. I am using Mythbuntu 9.10 currently.
