replication not configured, mmm still thinks all is well

On one host replication is not configured:

MariaDB [(none)]> show slave status\G
Empty set (0.00 sec)

Yet, mmm shows all is fine:

[root@mon01 init.d]# mmm_control @forum show
  fdb1(x.y.5.49) master/ONLINE. Roles: writer(x.y.5.110)
  fdb2(x.y.5.50) master/ONLINE. Roles: reader(x.y.5.108 x.y.5.109)

It might have to do with the multi-cluster, but I doubt it..
