Same here on Ubuntu 14.04. Starting yesterday it can't get any information. I've killed the process and restarted it numerous times but it never works. I attach a photo.

But weather is not updating, while trying to open that api url in browser it says:

{"cod":401,"message":"Invalid API key. Please see http://openweathermap.org/faq#error401 for more info."}

Interestingly, I usually have problems with openweathermap. But it is working for me now! I checked on the api url and have:

http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?lat=41.31137&lon=-105.5911&appid=4516154e5c8a6494e7e13b550408c863

So, you don't appear to have the appid for some reason, whereas I do.

I'm having the same problem... My-Weather-Indicator just stopped working after the kernel update which came through yesterday... 3.13.0-76-generic... the icon in the panel shows a white square with a red circle and a lime through it inside. neither Yahoo nor Open Weather Map connects... when I click on the icon it says it has connected but no data is displayed and if I try to display the forecast the app crashes. The location does nor work either. The failure coincided with the kernel update. Is it possible the update broke the indicator? or could Yahoo be off line? or have changed their URL ... It is probably not the Kernel since my wife's does not work either and she has kernel 3.19.0-42. I would like to have this working.. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm going to make a stab at this, since it is working for me again. I also had problems with "missing GPG keys" in addition to MWI not working. If you are still having this problem also, try installing y-ppa-manager, then click "advanced", and then click on "Try to import all missing GPG keys". This might take a little while.

Maybe a reboot after this? Anyways, things seem good again for me. Working with Yahoo Weather Service.

This is only a guess though.

Will be curious as to whether this solves it for you.

Ignore my last comment. My apologies. I *thought* this fixed the Yahoo Weather Service problem, but it did not.
Unfortunately while OpenWeatherMap Weather Service is working it isn't much good. Off by 20F. Youch.
