Remember position of current audio file when app closes

Bug Description

Would it be possible to make the app remember the position (time) of the currently being played audio file when the app shuts down?
The goal would be that the next time the app is started up again it will open the last played file at the position (time) it was left before.

Thanks!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

I would also like to see the behaviour eventually, however due to there not being a reliable way of detecting when the app is closed this is tricky, maybe StateSaver could help us here? Hopefully this is something we can add in the future :)

Wouldn't it be easier to save file name (location) and position (time) of currently played file every time the pause button is being pressed or when the audio jack is being pulled out (I think this also pauses the player).

This has the same function and would be triggered by human action while the Music Player is still running.

I completely support Fernando's suggestion.

I have been trying to play a 7 hours long audio file always remembering the exact index when I had to interrupt. Frankly, this was rather tedious.
