I've noticed that while browsing an album on the Albums tab and then tapping on a song to start playing it, it adds it to the Recent tab.

However, when I go to the Songs tab and tap on a song to start playing it, its corresponding album does not get added to Recent.

Is this by design, or perhaps a bug?
