[music app] Only songs played from the Artists, Albums, or Playlists tabs get added to the Recent tab

I've noticed that while browsing an album on the Albums tab and then tapping on a song to start playing it, it adds it to the Recent tab.

However, when I go to the Songs tab and tap on a song to start playing it, its corresponding album does not get added to Recent. The same if I try to play a song coming from the Artists tab: it does not get added to Recent.

Is this by design, or perhaps a bug?

This is related to bug 1248992. Right now an Album or Playlist is only added to the recent list if it is explicitly chosen from a view for that album or playlist. Right now I think that is the proper way of doing this. If playing any song from any album is to update the recent list, then both the Songs tab and any subsequently played song in the Queue should do the same. This might clutter the Recent list with Album entries for which the user might not really care about hearing the whole album as much. Needs design input.

Agree with Victor.

Another way of handling this would only have songs in Recent - no albums, playlists or artist.

OK so after having discussed with Victor, I think we should include the recently played Songs in the Recent tab, but don't add the associated albums/playlists automatically unless they are specifically played from the Albums or Playlistsview as collections
