Submission forms should indicate that they're processing

When submitting forms (e.g. updating user or game details), there is no visual indication that the form is uploading (such as the classic spinning circle thing). Ideally something like this would appear and the fields being submitted would be disabled until the upload completes.

Would it be possible to have a generic function call like the
Mugle.showMessage() when can be called immediately after an asynchronous
call, and then stopped once the asynchronous call returns?
