Bug Description

The album art displayed in the sound menu is always quite blurry. I'm really not sure why this is. There seems no relation to the size and/or quality of the images files themselves that are set as the art for any given album.
Thanks for you work making mpd work on the sound menu!

Let me show you. All the album art is fetched from the last.fm, which provides you from one to four images for the song - small, medium, large and extralarge (some can present or not). Since I'm trying to save user traffic, I always use the smallest one, which usually have the size of 34x34: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/34s/41332159.jpg. Sound-menu scales it to fit the sound-menu design, so it's blurred. I can fetch larger images, but they'll be heavier.

Ah, I see, makes sense. Any way to perhaps make it an option?

Nice idea, I'll make an option. I'm not sure if I would have time for it before the new year, but I'll try to do it ASAP.

Could you also make it look in the directory that the song's in for album art, maybe even fall back to the parent directory? There could be an option to specify the folder and then it would look there first before going to last.fm.

1. Parent folder is unacceptable.
2. Current folder is also unacceptable: you shouldn't forget, that sometimes "current" folder is really placed on the another host we don't have access to. MPD is network daemon, it can be placed anywhere.
3. If you can specify some folder, what should be the name of an image to check for?

I'm not sure, but last time I've checked Sound Menu, it seemed to me, that it accepts only http urls for image. However, I'll try to check it.
