The modern conventional method for skipping and fast forward is carried out by one single button that has two modes of operation.
The button for this in our player looks like the one attached.
This button as mentioned should have a dual function: You press it once and it skips...you hold it down and it fast forwards.
This method is the default on just about every media player I have ever encountered! (except Rythmbox box on Unbuntu...oddly)
