Bug Description

Bug Description: wiki.ubuntu.com returned internal server error 500 messages when login attempts were made for one hour period on Jan 13, 2011. This was verified on Rickardo Kirkner's system as well.

OS: Ubuntu Maverick

Browser: FF3.6
Problem URL: wiki.ubuntu.com
Steps To Reproduce:
1. Ensure you are logged out of login.ubuntu.com & wiki.ubuntu.com
2. Go to wiki.ubuntu.com and click the 'Login' link
3. It will switch to an openid button (?? this is an unnecessary step)
4. Click the OpenID button to be logged in, it will take you to the Launchpad Login version of SSO (?? Why not the SSO version)
5. Sign into the site

Expected Result:
I should have been logged in to the site, instead I was served a 500 Internal Server Error - this happened consistently on multiple platforms (myself and ricardokirkner) between the time of 1200 and 1330 on January 13th, 2011 before it rectified itself.

This is lsikely to do with the version of Moin OpenID that wiki.ubuntu.com is using.

RT #43403 has been issued to deal with the upgrade and hopefully inspect the error logs from the time this was occurring.

@jfunk: How long, would you estimate , it took before the 500 error message was displayed? Instantly, a short amount of time or a long time?

Andrew, I can't be sure, but thinking back it feels like it took a little longer than usual, but not a *very* long time.

I can confirm this error 500. Meanwhile, It happens *all* the time,

when I try to save a wiki page that I just edited (e.g. from our Ubuntu German Translators Team Wiki). It also happens to Hendrik K. - my team mate. This is very reproducable and falls into the category »annoying«. If you then click on »Reload« in your browser (I'm using current stable Chromium in Ubuntu Linux 10.10 64-Bit) and you answer »Yes« to the question, whether the post data should be re-sent, the page says »You've already saved this …«

Beside of those Internal Server Errors (500), editing Wiki pages seems to work.

I'll change the status of this bug to »Confirmed« now, because I think this is a general Internal Server Error problem with the Moin OpenID module, the MoinMoin Wiki software in general or the specific webserver(s) that it runs on.

Thanks in advance for investigating this issue.

I have to correct myself: it happens *nearly all the time* when saving a wiki page.
