Bug Description

Bug detailed description:
--------------------------
Image: Created on 02/18/2008

Although I haven't found a method to stable reproduce this, I need to report a bug to track it because I met it at least 10 times
out of about 100 times in a days' testing.

When resume back from S4, the hildon desktop will show for about 2 seconds, then it will crash and respawn. I am not quite sure, but I find it may be easier to happen if I move mouse or press keyboard after I push the sleep button(power button) or I keep pushing the power button.

This issue will not happen everytime, it may happen this time and disappear next time.

I saw one time that usbsid driver fail message was printed, but it just flashes and so I can not get the whole sentence clearly.

Reproduce steps:
----------------
1. Normal boot the system
2. push power button to hibernate
3. push power button to resume system

Current result:
----------------
Hildon desktop may crash and respawn

Expected result:
----------------
No failure happen

Basic root-causing log:
----------------------
Attach the output printed while starting hildon desktop

The reason is that X server crashed.
The most possible reason that it is caused by graphic driver.
Now using VESA driver to see whether the issue can be reproduced.

We found the X crash due to:

Fatal server error:
Fatal video memory manager error "Device or resource busy".
Check kernel logs for more info.
Detected in file Xpsb_bufmgr.c, line 391, function XpsbFenceSignaled.

So I guess it is psb driver resume bad and cause Gfx X driver (psb-dri or psb-xpsb) could not open kernel driver.
Inuka please help to send the message to the Gfx team.

Last time we reported this issue with BIOS 69. Are you sure you want it to be tested with an older BIOS? Just want to double confirm because it's a time consuming job to reproduce this bug.

I take that back. The comment was a mistake on my part.

Update: On May 14, 2008, Intel graphic engineer determined that it was Hilton desktop problem as the issue also found when using vesa driver and the system can successfully resume from S4 with psb driver when using Xinit and pm-hibernate.

Thanks for the update. The Ubuntu OEM team is seeing an error matching the error message listed in comment #3. This is occurring as an X crash unrelated to the hildon desktop on an idle machine with firefox opened to the tw version of yahoo.com, after over 24 hours, but it is intermittent and difficult to reproduce.
