Creating ~ume/media directory prior to first run hangs moblin-media

Bug Description

Try this:

1) before running moblin-media on a new target, create a ~ume/media/photos directory
2) fill this directory with images
3) run moblin-media

expected behavior: moblin-media should turn those images into a cache and display them
actual behavior: moblin-media hangs

If you then mv the ~ume/media to some other name, then retry moblin-media, it starts, then any images added can be processed into a cache.
