"Add card" and "Edit Deck" etc windows should have a maximize option! (Linux-specific issue?)

Bug Description

I don't know if this is possible to do in Linux but when I use the Windows version of mnemosyne, I am able to maximimize the "Edit Deck" and "Add Card" windows but in Linux I am constantly forced to stretch the window both ways which is really lengthy considering I depend on this program for my studies. Is it possible to make it so that I can maximize it or is it just something the Linux version is lacking altogether?

I able to maximise these windows under the Linux version. So, I don't think it's a Mnemosyne issue, but rather something to do with your version of Qt3 or your window manager.

Note that for Mnemosyne 2.x, we switch to Qt4

Do you know how I can track down what the problem is? I'm using Debian Lenny. And isn't it spelled "maximize?" It's the second time I see this mistake in Mnemosyne Launchpad. Not that it matters much but I'm just saying (unless I'm the one that's wrong).

I don't have access to a Debian Lenny system, so I don't know. Perhaps you can try installing a more recent version of Qt3?

BTW, I prefer the British spelling :-)

Changed in mnemosyne-proj:

I checked on the same computer, when running KDE, I can maximize those windows but not under GNOME. So could I convert this into a better GNOME-intergration wishlist bug?

It's certainly nothing Mnemosyne can do about. It's an issue about Qt3 and Gnome integration.

I think as of GNOME 2.26 the maximizing of "Add Card" and "Edit Deck" windows works without a problem. Didn't confirm this in Debian but in Ubuntu (Debian based) 8.04, and 8.10, the issue is still there on live CDs while on Ubuntu 9.04 which has GNOME 2.26, the issue is no longer there.

(The following is a seperate issue) However, I still find myself needing to install the KDE desktop environment, running mnemosyne, then uninstalling the KDE desktop environment and running mnemosne back in GNOME again to have it looking beautiful and not like some Windows 95 garbage.
