@ Peter,

I have modified the debian control file for the unstable PPA

ppa:mkusb/unstable

It makes mkusb-plug install for me both in older versions and in jammy.

Please let me know if it works for you too (with version 12.7.3-1ubuntu3 from the unstable ppa).
