Bug Description

Copy-pasta from mailing list
--------------------------------

So, I did a gig tonight running 1.10 (x64) and libportaudio2 from the ubuntu ppa with a Hercules rmx. Every once in a while, the gain on a playing track would skyrocket, causing a noticible "pop" in the sound and blasting the crap out of my poor crowd. This gain increase was accompanied by a swell in the waveform and lasted about 1/10th of a second, so it was obviously internal to mixxx, and not an artifact of the sound system. We had to finish the night on a serato rig.

Relevant information:
- Due to space constraints in the booth, my rmx was sitting on top of a subwoofer, so I'm worried that some low frequency vibration was jostling the usb cable in the back. The laptop was safely on a stand hovering over one of the turntables in the booth, and likely safe from vibration.
- both the main outs and the headphones were using the outputs from the rmx's builtin sound card
- normalization was set to a hefty 9db
- I had run this version of mixxx for approximately 3 hours earlier in the day while picking out a set without issue.

New info
----------
Over the past weekend, I tried to replicate this. Without changing any of my settings from the gig that night, I replayed the same tunes in first a quiet, home environment, and then at the studio with my controller on top of a 300W sub. I was unable to recreate the same popping of the gain in either of these cases. However, my subwoofer is considerably less powerful than the one we were using at the club, and surrounded by a lot less gear that could potentially interfere.

In addition, I opened up my controller to check the solder joints and contacts for the gain potentiometers, and everything checks out ok, so I am rather assured that this is not a mishap directly related to a hardware malfunction.

I used to get loud pops when the EQ crossovers were messed up -- high shelf lower than low shelf, for instance. But since we fixed that bug I've never heard this type of audio pop.

I think we did a lot again popping sound in 1.12-alpha
The two soundcards issue is fixed and the EQ pooping as well.
So we can tread this as fixed.
