Bug Description

Played my second gig last night and much to my horror had a major issue around 1hr into my set.

For some reason player 2 just stopped playing audio - tracks would load but no audio waveforms would show in the large viewer of the right player ( the smaller viewer would show a waveform ) also no audio would show on the mixer ( ie - no level on right player )

I quickly restarted the software only to have the waveforms show in the player, but still no audio coming through the mixer from the right player.

This morning the software is working fine...

Running OSX 10.5.8 - have a Behringer 3000 sound card/interface and running mixx 1.10.0

How did you have your audio outputs set up? Master/Headphone (internal mixing) or Deck1/Deck2 (external mixing)? Also were you using vinyl control? The problem sounds like something related to the sound card, especially if it didn't work after restarting the software. If you have a copy of the log from the crashed session that would be best.

Audio outs - Main set to 1&2 out - Headphones set to 3&4 all internal mixing through the Behringer

No vinyl control.

Can't have been a sound card thing as the wave form loaded was blank - nothing - and then when restarted and the waveform was there I had no level at all on the right player - the screen was saying the waveform was playing but no audio was visible in the mixer on the right player - surely if it was the soundcard then mixx would still give a visual on the mixer that the track was playing?

Went on a search for the Mixx log but unfort its the last instance that was run ( which worked fine )..

Ill have a play and see if I can replicate the bug again..

Just curious, do you have any long (>1 hour) tracks in your library? If you load one of those then the analyser queue will be stuck on that for a long time since it's long. This could prevent the main waveform from showing anything.

And now maybe a dumb "is it plugged in"-style question: Did you hit play on the second deck or did you just see no waveform and assume it wasn't working? Even if the waveform isn't displaying in the deck it can still play.

This is definitely troubling and something we need to track down and fix... if you find a way to reliably reproduce the issue please do post it here.

No 1> hour tracks in set..

When i discovered that I was getting no volume I quickly tried to swap tracks out - 5 or 6 tracks did exactly the same thing - that was when shut down mixx and restarted it.

It was definitely playing - the waveform play line was moving through the track like it should be playing but large waveform was empty ( I should have taken a screen grab but was panicing!! ). I checked both the player volume slider and headphones cue .. I even switched it to auto DJ just incase it was human error but all that did was mix to silence

I have run mixx for around 20-30 hrs in the last few months and this is the first time this has happened. :X I'll try it again and see if I can repeat the issue

Woo - this is most likely a dupe of Bug #1013768 which is now fixed.

Please re-open if you see it again after upgrading to 1.11.0.
