Windows update crackles mic input

The most recent Windows 10 update is causing the input from the mic to crackle. The music plays great but the audio from the mic is distorted. Doesn't matter if this is during a live broadcast or while recording. While I prefer (actually love) MIXXX, I have been forced to use SAM Broadcasting. Is there anything that can be done to fix this issue. I'm using an HP Folio 9470m with Intel Core i5-3437u @ 1.90GHz. It has 16 GB of RAM and running Windows 10 64 Bit.

Taking a cue from your request and checking all the settings under Sound Hardware, I have found that upping the Audio Buffer to 92.9ms seems to eliminate the problem totally. The default setting is 23.2ms and upping it to 46.4ms seems to clear it up but at times it does sounds like it is still ready to crackle. To me it appears there is a handshake issue between Windows and MIXXX as far as the Microphone is concerned.

Unless you discover something else, I would consider this issue resolved.
