Bug Description

I am using Mixxx 2.2.3 (build 2.2 r6750) and have the Cue Mode set to CUP in Pref > Decks > Cue Mode > CUP Mode. (Win10 environment)
https://gyazo.com/5bad9337e91f759b42249163aec72d82

the behavior should be play on release of (Left mouse) on cue button.

It now behaves similar to the Mixxx Mode, which is to play while the cue button is depressed, and returning to the cue point on release. (see video screenshots below)

Enabling or disabling Quantized or Key Lock does not allow the CUP mode to operate correctly (play on release).

I can not reproduce with the main CUE button.

Also, in the videos you use the hotcue buttons.
Note: the modes described in the manual apply to the main CUE button https://mixxx.org/manual/2.2/en/chapters/user_interface.html?highlight=cup#using-cue-modes

maybe that's the source of confusion? hotcue vs. CUE?
hotcues always behave like the Mixxx mode for the CUE button:
press & hold while stopped: play // release: jump back to hotcue
while holding a hotcue button, press play (on keyboard or controller) to continue playing after hotcue release.

hi Ronso0

Thank you for pointing out my confusion between cue and hotcue. I wanted the hotcues to function as they do in VDJ, to play on release.

This is NOT a bug and can be removed from this Bug reporting site and added to a features wishlist.

The usual routine is to hold the HOT CUE button pressed, then pressing PLAY.

summary: - Cue Mode set to CUP > doesn't play when released
+ Hotcues: Add CUP (cue play) mode
