cancel overview position drag when pointer leaves overview

Bug Description
With click-and-hold in the track overview we can preview the position.
Unfortunately the dragging can only be canceled with right click right now. This is hard to accomplish with touchpads and impossible with touch screens AFAICT.
Can we also cancel the position dragging when the pointer leaves the overview at the top or bottom?
