Bug Description
This is a new bug introduced in the last few PRs which attempted to fix the crash on startup on macOS.
An update to qt 5.12.3 has happened and it brings performance improvements it seems (very briefly tested).
But now whenever moving the mouse, the waveform is lagging. See screencast.
Unsure what's at fault. Tried with and without tooltips so those are unrelated.
