Bug Description

With Mixxx master I have no Mixxx icon in taskbar.
This was tested on Ubuntu Bionic using the Cinnamon Desktop and sometimes Windows 10.

2.2 as well? I suspect it's caused by the move to SVG?

in Ubuntu Studio 18.04 (Bionic w/ xfce 4.12) I see the icon of the app launchers and in the taskbar with 2.2 and master

I still have this issue with
"2.2.0-rc (build 2.2 r6613)"

Changed in mixxx:
milestone: none → 2.2.0

Unity and Gnome are also effected.

I have tried to edit the icon path in the desktop file to absolute, but there is still no icon for Mixxx.

I have tried to copy the icon to
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps and called:

gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/hicolor/

But it did not work.

No issues on Fedora with GNOME Shell and the installed SVG icon:

The screenshot shows the old icon with
9 scale lines. The recent 2.2 version has only 7. Did you install the latest version?
Can it be a cached icon you see?

How can I narrow the issue. Any ideas?
I have not managed to even show an alternative icon like Firefox by changing the desktop file.

What is the receipt to change an app icon.
It should be possible since some dittos uses icon themes.

An idea?

It shows the old SVG icon from the 0.2.beta.20181009gitb488246.fc29 build, installed into /usr/share/pixmaps. The updated icon will be included in the RC build. OS has been reinstalled recently, nothing cached.

Daniel Schürmann (daschuer) wrote :

I finally got it.
I had a mixxx.desktop file at
~/.local/share/applications
which points to the icon mixxx-icon instead of mixxx_icon (with underscore)

I have no clue how the file has go there. It is from 2015-06-27
I have found the same file on my other system as well.

Changed in mixxx:
status: New → Invalid
