Bug Description
This is not a bug but rather a feature request.
It is very normal to synchronize music and light in DJ shows. One very common way is to use sound to control the lighting gear. A click track is often used for this purpose because it provides a clean and unmistakable signal, and MIXXX already has a metronome effect available among it's effects that can generate such a signal. But, currently, unless I am mistaken, all the FX outputs are routed directly to the master output, making the metronome effect audible and also useless for the purpose intended. It would be very convenient to have:
A) The possibility to route the FX signal to a separate output on the soundcard.
B) OR have a specific output signal for syncing lighting setups where mixxx always sends out a clock signal in sync with the currently playing beat.
Either options would be fine, there are probably other options too I haven't thought of. There is a midi for light script, but that does not seem to work at all in my setup and causes mixxx to hang and do funny things.
Thanks a lot.

Not exactly. Effects are processed for the unmixed deck outputs. However, effects are processed after the software volume faders. So, there is no way you could have the metronome effect sent to a deck output without having it also in the master mix.
> The possibility to route the FX signal to a separate output on the soundcard.
This is tracked in Bug #1740346.

I think this would be a better way to handle this use case than hacking the effects system.
