Bug Description
The SoundSource plugin architecture only leads to crashes and headaches for users and maintenance burden for developers. We never implemented it correctly in the first place, and the reasons for its existence (AAC support) are gone, since macOS and Windows have good AAC support via platform APIs. FFMPEG is probably the way forward for scalable audio codec support.
