pop sound when play position is outside of resized loop boundaries

Bug Description

There is an audible pop when a loop is enabled, the loop boundaries are changed, and the play position is outside of the new loop boundaries. This happens when halving the loop size when the the play position is in the second half of the loop. It also happens when using beatjump_forward/backward and beatjump_size is bigger than the loop.

This is annoying, but no party stopper.
Is it a regression since 2.0?
Could it be a cache miss?
Can you record the pop?

Please look out for the following log messages when this happens:

Debug [Engine]: CachingReader - Cache miss for chunk with index ...

The read operation is aborted after a single retry, so those log messages typically appear twice. Jumping to an uncached position in the track very likely triggers a cache miss for the first chunk. At least I didn't notice any severe audible dropouts, yet.

I do not see cache miss warnings in the console output when I hear this. I am using JACK with 256 frames/period and 2 periods/buffer at 441000 Hz (11.6 ms latency).

I can hear the pops in recordings.

I cannot reproduce a "Pop" but a short breake.
It happens always when I jump to an uncached position either by waveform click or by beatjump.
It does not happen if I use hotcues.

I don't see anything usual looking at the waveform of that recording in Audacity...

Any ideas what is happening here?

Sorry for the alarm. I think I am simply hearing the sound of suddenly jumping to a different part of the track which does not smoothly transition from the current position. I can reproduce this with Mixxx 2.0 as well as Rhythmbox.
