Bug Description

It would be very useful to have a view to detect possible duplicates tracks in the library.

Possible approach:
1) Filter out common words from title "A", "The", etc...
2) Calculate soundex(title)+soundex(artist)
3) Use the 'hash' from (2) to group/sort the tracks

it would be usefull also to be able to merge duplicates tracks entries into the library. For instance after renaming a track, there is two entries I would like to merge in order to not loose the metadatas on the first entry.

Is this the same bug?

In addition to "duplicates tracks in the library," can this also apply to "playlists?" I have some duplicate tracks in a playlist, and I think it'd be easier to detect them based on "location" and "filename," or something to that nature.
