Mixxx stops playing while listening to and previewing music

Bug Description

This is the second time I have had this issue, with a different computer. As I am using Mixxx, I can usually play and preview a few songs, but after a few, and it seems to be random, it will stop playing in the middle of a song (it appears that it is still going, but there is no sound.) The best way I can describe it is as if the program stops loading the song, because I can grab the bar and put it at the beginning of the song, and listen to what I just heard. The program doesn't freeze, it stops working. I then can't load or play any other songs, and it freezes if I try to close it, or do anything.

My Setup is a Lenovo y700 with i7 and 32 gb ram. I use a scarlett 2i4 for audio.

My old setup was a HP pavilion g7. same scarlett 2i4.

This problem didn't occur with the last version, and works perfectly fine when I run it in archlinux, but won't work in windows. problem occurs while using the scarlett 2i4 and when just using the laptop speakers.

I love the program and its features, but I would rather not have to downgrade to version 1.12 and I don't have my linux set up on the new machine yet.

Did you use the 32 of 64 bit version?

Please test the latest windows builds from here:

Buy luck the issue is already solved.

if not please provide a mixxx.log from a crashing run.

I'm still experiencing this issue. It has happened numerous times and I'm not able to replicate the bug except for attempting to sample songs via preivew sections. Sometimes it doesn't load the waveform but I can still hear it. Other times, it stops loading and then everything else freezes so I know I can't preview during performances.

This also has happened with 1.11. I'm currently using 2.0 ( know I need to update to 2.1 but not going to do that the day of performance) on an ACER - i5 - 6300HQ - 24gb ram, 64 bit - Home OS, 2gb GPU ram. No background programs running except for mandatory programs.

I have also noticed that when I close mixxx, it won't close. Once I click on it, it says not responding, and then I have to use Task Manager to end it. Not sure if I should open a new bug for that.

That's the same problem I had too. Mine was fixed when I went to the newest
version. I'm not sure if it has to with file type either.

Very likely to be fixed with introduction of the new SoundSource framework in Mixxx 2.1. Closing this report with "Fix Committed".
