Bug Description
This report is filed as a result to a discussion in https:/
Note that I came across a number of other questions and reports where users in some way asked for this feature too.
I don't know how other DJ-controllers function.
Perhaps some of them are motorized and can reinstate their controls automatically to the settings of Mixxx as soon as Mixxx starts up.
For those DJ-controllers, this report is probably not relevant.
However, for none motorized controls like mine, at Mixxx start up, slider, knob, button settings are set in Mixxx to their initial position, but of course the controls on the DJ controller remain unchanged, they remain as they were at last shutdown.
This is quite annoying.
Some DJ's (no matter if they use a sophisticated controller, a simple controller or no controller at all) may also find it convenient if sliders, knobs, buttons, ... start up exactly as they were when shutting down.
An example ... For me most initial gain knob (volume) settings are a little bit low.
Without a controller I have to change all those knob settings one by one at each start.
With a controller it becomes even worse.
Together with the screen knobs, the volume knobs on my DJ-controller are turned more open.
When Mixxx starts, the knobs on my PC screen turn back to the lower setting but -of course- the knobs on my controller remain.
So at each start I have to turn EACH KNOB on my DJ-controller to the left to pick up the actual setting (don't remember how this function is named) and then turn it back to the right to my prefered setting.
Annoying.
This is what this request is about.
Clearly, the ability to remember control settings across sessions is to be a preference.
If it were standard behaviour, it will certainly make a lot of DJ's mad.
And maybe it would be even better to set a preference per logical group of settings.
Something like
- remember your vinyl settings
- remember your volume settings
- remember your playback settings
- ...
It's up to the more specialized DJ's to define the different groups of settings.
Of course, we are not to exaggerate either.
There's no sense in covering ALL possible options.

I can't change the importance (which is logical)...
Can anyone please set this to "Wishlist"?
Thank you.
