SCons optimize setting is not saved

Bug Description

As of 21 March 2015 at 14:57 UTC (git has no revision numbers) when I specify optimize=<something>, the setting is not saved for subsequent scons runs; I must specify it each time.

Tip: git log or git show to get the hash of your commit. That's the conventional way to refer to a specific commit.
