Bug Description

This is either a bug, or a misunderstanding on my side how ducking is supposed to work.

While testing, and tweaking alot of knobs, i found myself with a quite Mixxx.
And i could not figure out why no audio was coming out the master. Checked all configs and, you know the deal, usual troubleshooting.

If you have manual ducking activated and turn the strength parameter completely to the left, master output will go silent.
Wouldn't it make sense to disable (manual) ducking until at least one mic is configured, or talked into?

Or should we simple hide the controls in the skins, until a mic is configured?

In MANUAL ducking mode ducking strength is nothing more than a master volume knob, so all the way to left is silence.

Were you skinning the ducking mode knob? Is it possible you switched to manual?

re: #2
Yes, switched to manual ducking and turned the strength knob in Deere as of latest master.
I`m fine with adding the #2 bits to the manual then and close this.

and yet another user who stumbled over this..

This is a real killer when you're setting up your gear for a live gig and the master is silent.
When I was bugged by this I had the Mics hidden so I didn't know what to look for in the manual...

Ducking mode should be Off when no Talk button is engaged.
And duck should be set Off be skins for the case that Mics are hidden.

That said, adding a hint to the manual and Troubleshooting wiki is necessary but it's just a workaround IMO.

For 2.3 I suggest the skin fix in https://github.com/mixxxdj/mixxx/pull/2006
