Bug Description

I really like mixxx, so hoping that this annoying crashing problem can be fixed. This is system dependent.

Does NOT work with Windows 7 professional, running with Intel core 2 duo T6500 @2.10 GHz 4GB RAM, 64-bit

Does work with Windows 7 ultimate, running with i3 core , 4GB RAM, 64 bit

Upon installation, while opening it starts and asks for the music folder. Once selected, it opens the GUI and crashes.
Now I looked at the forums and changed the mixxx.cfg file as per someone's suggestion. Now it does a very similar thing but crashes only after clicking on any tab of the GUI window.

Here is the full log:

mixxx.exe has stopped working

Interesting. I'm not on Windows so someone else will need to chime in. It looks like the process listed here is "NVIDIA Compatible OpenGL ICD". Are the video drivers up to date?

If you are feeling adventurous you can try this dev build of 1.12 and see if it works:

http://downloads.mixxx.org/builds/master/mixxx-1.12.0-alpha-master-git4239-x64.exe

It's a few months behind (The windows build server is being tweaked) but I'm curious to see what happens.

Thanks Lee, I have not had a chance yet to check whether there is a problem with the video driver. Also, I will install the 1.12 to see whether that comes out clean. Will let you know shortly, and thanks for your quick response.
Regards,
Tapan

I just tried the unreleased version, the same result, it crashes similarly. I think you may be correct, this computer has mobile intel 4 series express chipset, and although the driver is updated as per Intel 8.15.10.2869, this may not be enough for handling graphics. The other computer which has no problem has a dedicated high end ati Radeon graphics card. Not sure though why mixxx graphics requirement has to be that high since it is not 3D.

Hi there,

Sorry for resurrecting this frozen thread, but i am experiencing this crash again using 2.1.0 and 2.1.1, even 1.12

I have seen in some forums that Jack for Windows may be the cause, but i uninstalled it and mixxx still crashes

Any idea?
